My story “Beautiful Spaces for Beautiful Minds” in Interior Design magazine explores how biomedical labs around the world are conveying their mission through architecture. These trend-setting spaces include the Yale-New Haven Hospital’s Park Street Clinical Laboratory by Benisch Architeken and Svigals + Partners; the New York Genome Center (above) by Elkus Manfredi Architects; Seattle’s Infectious Disease Research Center by Aedas; HOK’s Francis Crick Institute, opening 2016 in London; and the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences in East Boothbay, Maine, by Perkins + Will.
