My story on Built by Women NYC made me wish I’d known about these projects when I was a girl. Might’ve been an architect. @BWAF

The title of this story, “Yes, She Can,” says it all. I loved interviewing these amazing women architects about the Built by Women NYC initiative for the “Design Insider” column in the May issue of Interior Designidx150401-MAG_0001

Learning about their oft-overlooked triumphs despite so many “little tales of misogyny” (to use Patricia Highsmith’s timeless phrase), made me realize how powerful it is for women– especially young girls like my own teenage daughter–to be able to experience their tangible, visionary contributions to the built environment. Kudos to Beverly Willis, an inspiration to us all. Can’t wait to see what BxW DC turns up.
